Blueberries are native to North America whereas the European blueberries are known as Bilberries.  While Hammonton, New Jersey claims to be the "Blueberry Capitol of the World", the leading producer in the US is actually Washington.  Sold fresh or processed, blueberries are popular in jams, pies, muffins and smoothies.  Dried blueberries are good for cooking, baking or mixed into snacks and cereals.
